REIDSVILLE, N.C. -- Authorities are investigating a suspicious fire that broke out at a Reidsville business Thursday morning.

The fire started just after 4 a.m. in an office at Isometrics Inc., which is located at 1266 N. Scales St. in Reidsville.

Employees told investigators they smelled smoke when they first got to work and then found the fire in an office, according to Robert Cardwell, an investigator with the Rockingham County Fire Marshal's Office.

Fire investigators said they believe someone broke into Isometrics Inc. and started the fire.

Cardwell said this fire may be connected to another fire that broke out at the Isometrics plant in Wentworth on Friday. In that case, a newly built tanker truck, that was scheduled to be delivered to the U.S. Military, was set on fire.

Cardwell added that this fire could be related to other "suspicious activity" in the county during recent weeks.

The Rockingham County Sherriff's Department is now waiting for warrants and detectives to arrive.
