Power restored to most Piedmont Triad residents after storms

Update: 9:40 p.m. Tuesday — Power has been restored to most customers affected by today’s storms, according to Duke Energy and the City of High Point Electric Department.

Thousands of Piedmont Triad residents across multiple counties are without power after storms moved through on Tuesday afternoon.

The storms took down trees and power lines.

As of 5 p.m., more than 1,600 Duke Energy customers are without power in Guilford County.

In Forsyth County, more than 600 Duke Energy Customers are without power.

Other counties affected, according to Duke Energy, are:

  • Davie County 613

The City of High Point Electric Department reports 3,451 meters showing outages.

In Forsyth County, Duke Energy estimates power will be restored by 8 p.m.

In Guilford County, Duke Energy estimates power will be restored by 9 p.m.

Power in Davie County is expected to be restored by 5:30 p.m.
