WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a Wake County deputy who was serving a warrant, according to WTVD.

The incident happened at a mobile home on Old Watkins Road in Wake County.

Two deputies were serving a search warrant for an earlier shooting on the same property when someone inside the home started shooting, according to Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison.

Harrison said one deputy was hit by shrapnel and taken to WakeMed with minor injuries.

The two people of interest in this case are now in custody and are being questioned.

Details about the previous shooting, which deputies were serving a warrant for, have not been released.

The deputy who was hit by shrapnel is expected to be ok.
