WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- FOX8 has done a number of stories on local people setting world records; like the longest ride on an indoor bike or the longest car pull.

This story features a bunch of field hockey players who came together and dealt with a lot of obstacles to go after a world record.

Twenty-seven players broke a Guinness World Record for the longest field hockey game ever played -- 51 hours!

The original record of 40 hours was set by a group in England, and rumor had it they just beat their own record at 50 hours, so this group figured they'd do 51 to be safe.

FOX8's Danny Harnden has the story.
