Man arrested in Lexington after 16 pounds of meth found in vehicle

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Charlotte man was arrested in Lexington over the weekend after several pounds of methamphetamine was found in his vehicle.

Bernardo Flores Soto, 34, of Charlotte, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and driving without a license, according to a news release from Lexington police.

On Saturday, Lexington police officers stopped a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt on Interstate 85 near mile marker 88 for a traffic violation.

According to the news release, Soto consented to a search of the vehicle and officers found 16.8 pounds of methamphetamine.

Soto was placed in the Davidson County Detention Center under a $200,000 bond.

Soto is scheduled to appear in court in Davidson County on May 9.
