DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Lexington man is facing charges for allegedly kidnapping his neighbor Saturday.

Kenneth Ray Story, 49, of Golden Drive in Lexington, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, false imprisonment, and resisting, obstructing or delaying a law enforcement officer.

Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a family disturbance on Golden Drive April 23, according to a release.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they determined Story had kidnapped one of his neighbors and held her inside his home for several hours. During that time, deputies say Story refused to let the woman communicate with her family or respond to officers.

After several hours, Story released the woman and then fled the area on foot.

Deputies conducted an extensive search and found Story in the Southmont area of Davidson County.

Story was taken into custody and is being held in the Davidson County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
