FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville mother is facing charges after police say she locked her children inside a U-Haul truck at a Target in Fayetteville.

According to WNCN, 28-year-old Sheena Marie Young is charged with three counts of misdemeanor child abuse and misdemeanor trespassing.

Police responded to the Target in the 2000 block of Skibo Road around 5:15 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of a woman trespassing.

Young was found inside the U-Haul truck with her child. Officers spoke with Young and discovered that she had been banned from that Target.

While officers were filing an arrest report, they heard a scratching noise coming from the U-Haul.

According to WNCN, when the officers opened the door to the U-Haul, they found an 8-year-old and 4-year-old inside.

Young also admitted to police that she smoked marijuana before driving to the store.
