Man shot in Davidson County ‘road rage’ incident

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Davidson County deputies are investigating after a man was shot during what he called a “road rage” incident.

Deputies responded to Queens Road in Linwood at approximately 5:34 p.m. on April 23, according to a news release.

The victim told deputies that he was shot during a “road rage” incident. The victim was treated and is in stable condition.

Sheriff David Grice said two men got into some sort of chase, pulled over and got out of their cars. The victim was shot in the leg.

Grice said they have a possible suspect they are investigating. If charged, the suspect would be charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

It is unclear if the suspect and the victim knew each other prior to the incident.
