Greensboro man charged with statutory rape in Alamance County

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A Greensboro man is facing charges for statutory rape in Alamance County.

Jeffrey Mark Stanley, 48, of Creek Ridge Road in Greensboro, is facing three counts of indecent liberties with a child and four counts of statutory rape.

According to a release, on Nov. 2, 2015, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into an alleged reoccurring sexual assault case that dated back to February 2011.

The victim’s parents contacted authorities after learning about the incidents.

After a lengthy investigation, Stanley wad arrested and charged. Authorities said in a release that Stanley was in his 40s when the crimes occurred.

Authorities say Stanley was an acquaintance of his victim, who was under the age of 16.

Stanley is being held in the Alamance County Detention Center under a $125,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for April 26.
