Woman who drove car into Walmart says, ‘God told her to do it’

CAMDEN, S.C. — A woman in South Carolina told police she crashed her car into a Walmart because “God told her to do it.”

According to WISTV, police were called to the Walmart in Camden, S.C., at 10:25 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle hitting the building.

In an incident report, police noted that the driver “was standing in the middle of the crowd and was screaming and causing a huge disturbance.”

The woman, later identified as 34-year-old Crystal Marshall, then proceeded to tell the officer that the rapture was coming and “God told her to do it.”

Marshall is charged with malicious injury to real property and disorderly conduct.

She later admitted to intentionally driving her vehicle into the store, according to the police report.
