WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Detectives released new information Tuesday about what led up to the murder of 25-year-old Jeremy Asiaih Johnson.

At this point in the investigation, authorities with the Winston-Salem Police Department have determined that three to five men forced their way into a home, located at 3000 Apollo Drive, at 12:44 a.m. Saturday.

The suspects, who were all dressed in dark clothing and wearing ski masks, originally intended to rob the people inside.

However, during the robbery, some of the suspects took Johnson to the front yard and shot him.

Johnson was taken to Baptist Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
