SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — A search at a Surry County home last week yielded the discovery of methamphetamine, firearms and stolen property, according to Sheriff Graham Atkinson.
On April 13, authorities executed a search warrant at a home on Red Brush Road outside Mount Airy.
The search of the residence yielded approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine, several firearms, drug paraphernalia, and packaging and containers that appeared to be designed to conceal and transport controlled substances, Atkinson said.
While searching the property outside the residence, investigators located several items of stolen property including a F-350 Ford Box truck, a 1999 F-450 Ford truck cab and chassis, two fuel trailers, an industrial portable generator with work lights, a Surry-Yadkin electric power meter and three utility trailers.
On April 14, investigators conducting a subsequent search recovered a 2008 Sportsman 500 Polaris ATV.
David Worth Steele, 52, of the residence, is charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property.
Lisa Johnson Wolford, 53, of Lowgap, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Steele’s bond was set at $250,000 secured. Wolford’s bond was set at $25,000 secured.
Both are scheduled to appear in court on May 5.
