Rowan County man arrested after deputies find marijuana in 6-year-old’s closet

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A Salisbury man was arrested Wednesday after deputies say they found marijuana in a 6-year-old’s closet.

Travis Wayne Coley, 27, is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; and misdemeanor child abuse.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 531 Villa Woods Drive Wednesday.

There, officials found approximately 103 grams of marijuana, a .25 mm handgun, assorted drug paraphernalia and $1,247.

Authorities also found about an ounce of marijuana in a jacket pocket inside a 6-year-old’s bedroom closet.

Coley is being held on a $10,000 bond.
