FBI video shows former Charlotte mayor pocketing thousands in bribes

Surveillance video and audio files from the investigation into Patrick Cannon were released Wednesday by the FBI, and they make it clear that the former mayor knew what he was doing.

The FBI released 17 minutes and 42 seconds of video and audio files.

Cannon’s guilty plea was on a single count of honest services wire fraud, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
