FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Winston-Salem man in connection with a deadly shooting on Wednesday morning.

David Erik Van Slee, 26, of Lamond Drive in Winston-Salem, is charged with one count of murder.

Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Officer responded to 4065 Lamond Drive in Winston-Salem at 12:27 a.m. in reference to an “unknown trouble” call.

Inside the home, deputies found a man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim, later identified as 32-year-old Christopher Gilles Raymond, was declared dead on the scene.

Investigators collected evidence and interviewed two people who were at the home when deputies arrived. That information led to Van Slee’s arrest.

Van Slee is being held without bond in the Forsyth County Detention Center. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 28.
