ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after two toddlers were found in a creek in the Beaverdam community Friday evening, according to WLOS.

“I was walking down to check it out. I seen one kid crawling up right over here on the far side trying to get out and kept scrambling down,” said Matthew Jones, who was visiting his mother at the time.

“I got over to help him, and I noticed there was another one in the water, like in the water. He went submerged. That’s when I just jumped in,” said Jones.

It happened at Pinecroft Road in North Asheville around 8 p.m. The children were taken to Mission Hospital and DSS was called. They are expected to be OK.
