Geronimo Medellin Juarez

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Geronimo Medellin Juarez had finally had enough of Brian Braulio Castellon, his girlfriend’s son.

Juarez’s attorney says Castellon had for years assaulted his own mother and had struck Juarez in the eye with a blunt object.

That’s why on June 28, 2015, Juarez went into his house, grabbed a gun and shot Castellon once in the chest, the bullet piercing Castellon’s aorta and lungs.

On Thursday, Juarez, 43, of Pineview Drive, pleaded guilty in Forsyth Superior Court to voluntary manslaughter. Judge John O. Craig of Forsyth Superior Court sentenced Juarez to four years and eight months to six years and eight months in prison.
