High Point teen hit by vehicle while lying in roadway

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A teen was severely injured after being hit by a vehicle while lying in the road Monday night in High Point.

High Point Police responded to the 3300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive just before 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian being struck.

The 13-year-old girl was initially taken to High Point Regional Hospital and was later transferred to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

At the time of the release, the teen was still in surgery.

The incident is still under investigation by the High Point Police Traffic Unit.
