US Marshals searching for woman wanted in 2004 killing of Greensboro infant

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public’s assistance locating a woman who is wanted in connection with the death of an infant.

Evangelina Vazquez, 35, is suspected of killing an infant she was babysitting in Greensboro in 2004.

Authorities say they believe Vazquez shook the infant violently, causing trauma which led to the infant’s death.

Vazquez has been a fugitive since the incident took place, nearly 12 years ago.

Anyone with information on Vazquez or her whereabouts is asked to call (336) 332-8700 or contact the Joint Fugitive Task Force supervisor Michael Potter at (336) 554-8580.

Authorities said Vazquez should be considered armed and dangerous.
