Graham man arrested on statutory rape charges

GRAHAM, N.C. — Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Graham man who is accused of raping a teen.

Jamal Dennis Lee Patterson, 20, is charged with two counts each of statutory rape of a person who is 13 to 15 years old and statutory sex offense with a person who is 13 to 15 years old.

The alleged incidents were reported on March 17 by a parent of the victim.

According to reports, the alleged crimes occurred at a home in the southern part of Alamance County.

Patterson was originally believed to be in Virginia, but the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force arrested him at his home in Graham on April 1.

Patterson is being held under a $250,000 bond.
