Stolen car found in Rural Hall cemetery pond

Crestview Memorial Park

RURAL HALL, N.C. – Deputies are investigating how a stolen car ended up submerged in the pond at Crestview Memorial Park on University Parkway.

Maintenance workers at the cemetery reported the submerged car shortly after 11 a.m. Friday morning.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and the Lewisville Fire Department Dive Team responded and were able to retrieve the car from the pond.

Authorities said that no one was in the car at the time.

The car was reported stolen from Surry County, according to Chief Deputy Brad Stanley.

The investigation is on-going.
