HARRISBURG, N.C. – Some parents are concerned after a rock outside a North Carolina middle school was found painted with the message, “Trump 4 President 2016.”

Parents contacted WBTV on Wednesday morning after rock was found outside Hickory Ridge Middle School in Harrisburg, which was used as a polling location.

“I was stunned to see the school spirit rock painted with this message on it,” one parent wrote, according to WBTV. “If the schools are non-partisan why was this allowed to be presented on school grounds?”

School officials said they did not give anybody permission to paint the rock and were not aware of it. A custodian has been instructed to remove the message.

Trump won the North Carolina primary on Tuesday with about 40 percent of the Republican vote. He won Cabarrus County, where the school is located, with about 43 percent of Republican voters.
