RALEIGH, N.C. – State health officials said three more people died in North Carolina last week from complications of the flu, according to the Associated Press.

The state death toll for 2015-2016 has been eight, according to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.

Five of the eight deaths have involved adults aged 25 to 49, two were between 50 to 64 and one was older than 65.

That’s significantly less than the 218 people who died last year.
