NC high school student wears Confederate flag cape, shouts ‘white power’ at school

SHALLOTTE, N.C. – A North Carolina high school student is accused of wearing the Confederate flag as a cape and yelling “white power” at school.

WWAY reported that three students have been charged after the incident which took place Wednesday at West Brunswick High School in Shallotte.

The students allegedly hung a Confederate flag in the school’s courtyard and then one took it down and wore it as a cape.

The student wearing the flag allegedly walked to the cafeteria and was seen shouting “white power.”

Three students involved have been cited with disorderly conduct and two others were not charged because they were juveniles.

Photos of the incident were posted to Facebook. Some students wore black to school the following day in response to the incident.
