HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire that broke out early Friday morning at a vacant home.

A call came in at 5:11 a.m. about a fire at a home on Dane Street in High Point, according to Chief Thomas Reid with the High Point Fire Department.

No one was in the home and investigators say they believe it is vacant because there are no utilities to the home.

A neighbor reported hearing an explosion.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control in about 30 minutes.

Reid said more information will be available after the investigation is complete.
