GREENSBORO, N.C. — Three people were taken to the hospital after a car and tractor-trailer collided on Burlington Road near Greensboro Friday morning.

A Kia Forte and a tractor-trailer collided on Burlington Road near its intersection with Old Burlington Road, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Trooper Lamp with NCSHP said the extent of injuries are unknown at this time.

According to Lamp, two people in the Kia were traveling east on Burlington Road and the driver of the tractor-trailer was traveling west on the same road.

Both east and westbound traffic was reduced to one lane and backed up in each direction on Friday morning while the wreck was being investigated and cleared.

As of 11:30 a.m., the Kia was removed from the road and both eastbound lanes were opened. Troopers still have one westbound lane closed while a wrecker service works to remove the tractor-trailer from a turn lane.
