Two dead after shooting outside North Carolina McDonald’s

HICKORY, N.C. – Two people are dead after a shooting outside a North Carolina McDonald’s restaurant, according to WCNC.

Authorities said 28-year-old Cody William Watts died from injuries in the hospital on Friday. Richelle Scott Lail, 22, died at the scene on Wednesday.

The shooting was reported in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Hickory just before 6 p.m. Wednesday. Police were called on a report of a domestic disturbance.

Lail’s body was reportedly found near the playground while Watts was found sitting in a car injured.

The alleged gunman, 22-year-old Eric Yount, was arrested shortly later in Lenoir and charged with murder and attempted murder.
