Teenager shot, injured outside Burlington hotel; police looking for suspect

BURLINGTON, N.C. – A teenager was shot and injured outside a Burlington hotel and police are looking for the suspect.

Burlington police said they were called to the hotel at 2444 Maple Avenue at 12:20 a.m. Saturday in reference to a shots fired call.

Arriving officers found that 17-year-old Vonoshetha Miller of Burlington had been shot in the front parking lot of the hotel. He was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the shooting happened after an argument between two men outside the hotel. One of the men allegedly pulled out a handgun and started shooting.

The suspect is described as a young black male, 5’6” to 5’7” with close cut hair.
