Man convicted of raping woman in Winston-Salem portable bathroom

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man has been convicted of raping a woman in a Winston-Salem portable bathroom.

Roy Eugene Bryant was convicted of one count each of second-degree rape and second-degree sex offense.

According to officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department, the rape was first reported Oct. 18, 2014.

A woman told police she was forced into a portable bathroom on 4th and Linden streets and raped by a man she met earlier that evening.

Officers developed information that led to Bryant’s arrest on the same charges he was convicted of on Monday.

Bryant was sentenced to serve 33-46 years for the crime.
