RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. -- Blacksmith Jerry Darnell may live in the Westmoore community just east of Seagrove, but he’s making quite a name for himself in Hollywood.

He has become the go-to guy for movie set props depicting the 18th century.

Most recently, he produced 78 different hand forged iron works for the movie “The Revenant.”

He has also made items for the Fox TV show “Sleepy Hollow.”

Darnell, 68, has been blacksmithing since he was 19 and is now one of the best know blacksmiths in the country. He sells most of his work through his website www.millcreekforge.com.
