Boat sinks near Frying Pan Tower

The Frying Pan Tower, a restored Coast Guard light station 34 miles off the United States North Atlantic Coast, is a fully functioning hotel. The isolated hotel offers solitude to its guests.

Seven people were rescued from a sinking boat just a few miles from Frying Pan Tower Saturday afternoon.

According to WECT, the charter vessel caught fire and began to sink around 1 p.m.

The Coast Guard rescued everyone aboard about seven miles off of Frying Pan Tower.

Frying Pan Tower is located 34 miles off North Carolina’s coast.
