WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Two women lost their home in a Winston-Salem house fire Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home on Hutton Street around 2:30 a.m., according to Capt. Joe Ramsey with the Winston-Salem Fire Department.

When crews arrived, flames were coming from the back of the home.

Firefighters were able to put the blaze out in about 15 minutes.

Ramsey said the home received about $20,000 in damage. He said the fire likely started in the rear corner of the house and traveled up the side of the home, damaging the attic as well.

The fire is still under investigation.
