Virginia police officer killed in shooting on first day on job; two others injured

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. –A Prince William County police officer was killed and two other officers were hurt in a domestic-related shooting incident in Woodbridge, Va. on Saturday afternoon.

The slain officer was just sworn in Friday, and was working her first weekend on the force when she lost her life, reported WTTG.

According to police, Officer Ashley Guindon was one of the three officers injured in a shooting on Lashmere Court. She died of injuries sustained during the incident, the department tweeted

Just Friday, the department tweeted a photo of Officer Guindon and another fellow new officer, right after they were sworn in.

All three officers were flown by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital The other two officers wounded during the encounter are still being treated for their injuries.
