Man wanted in attempted kidnapping of NC student

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap an East Mecklenburg High School student Thursday morning, according to WBTV.

Police told WBTV the 16-year-old male student was walking to school in the 6400 block of Conference Drive around 7:15 a.m. when a man with a gun pulled up and told him to get in.

The man then drove the teen to a nearby location and tried to assault him, but the teen was able to get out of the vehicle and find help, according to police.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
