Human skeletal remains found in Randolph County

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Human skeletal remains have been found in the Seagrove area of Randolph County, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

The identity of the victim and cause of death is currently unknown. Deputies said the remains will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh for examination.

Deputies responded to a 911 call concerning possible human remains found off of Kiser Road in the Seagrove area on Monday.

Criminal investigators and crime scene personnel with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office processed the scene and collected human skeletal remains.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details were immediately available.
