Guilford, Forsyth schools on 2-hour delay Tuesday; see full list of closings

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. – Guilford County, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and Alamance-Burlington schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday due to weather.

Overnight, a surge of warm air is going to move through from south to north, carrying temperatures from the lower-30s into the lower-40s by daybreak.

There will be a line of heavy rain that crosses the Piedmont overnight, melting most of the snow and sleet, and it will be accompanied by gusty winds between 18 and 22 mph.

During the day on Tuesday, skies are going to gradually clear out and temperatures will be in the lower-50s. Winds are going to continue to be breezy, between 10 and 15 mph.

The rest of the week is superb with highs will stay in the 50s through Friday with dry weather. By the weekend, highs will be in the mid-60s.
