Suspect identified, sought in Winston-Salem homicide

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police have identified a suspect in the murder of a Lexington man over the weekend.

Authorities have obtained a warrant for arrest charging Steven Christopher Edwards, 24, with first-degree murder.

On Saturday shortly before 1:30 a.m., Winston-Salem police were called to the 300 block of W. Fourth St. in reference to a reported shooting.

Responding officers found Robert Bradford Hall, 35, of Lexington, lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Hall was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in critical condition and died later that day.

Winston-Salem police said Edwards should be considered armed and dangerous.
