One man’s Internet inquiry about his wife’s seemingly faulty Fitbit fitness tracker led him to quite the unexpected discovery.

Reddit user YoungPTone posted a note asking why his wife’s heartbeat readings were so high because he was concerned the Fitbit the sensor was broken.

On Reddit he wrote:

“She logged 10 hours in the fat burning zone, which I would think to be impossible based on her activity level. Also, her calories burned do seem accurate. I would imagine if she was in the fat burning zone she would burn a ton of calories, so it’s not lining up.”

From there YoungPTone asked other Reddit users if there was a way to reset or recalibrate the device.

That’s when Reddit user Thatwasunpleasant commented and asked if the man’s wife could be pregnant.

YoungPTone responded saying, “Pregnancy is a strong possibility, didn’t know that would jack up the heart rate. I might be a dad, YIKES. Now I gotta watch my own heart rate lol.”

According to CBS News, the man’s wife took a home pregnancy test and found out she was indeed pregnant.

YoungPTone returned to Reddit a day later and replied to the original post saying, “I’m going to be a dad.”

More recently, YoungPTone returned to Reddit and said:

“Thank you all for your overwhelming support! Its been awesome to read all the comments and well wishes, even the comments questioning whether I am in fact the father (gotta have a sense of humor on here, right?). I just wanted to say this is indeed real, I do not work for Fitbit, this is not guerrilla marketing. This is real, the fear is real, the excitement is very real! I am a regular guy who was just looking for the community’s help with his wife’s technology issue (we’ve all been there, right?). Little did I know I got alot more than I bargained for! Now I’m a regular guy who is preparing to have his first child brought into the world, God willing, in Oct 2016.”
