North Carolina teacher accused of kicking, beating children

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. – A North Carolina teacher is accused of kicking a 7-year-old into a wall and beating a 5-year-old with a belt.

WWAY reported that Victoria Jeffries was arrested on two counts each of assault on a child under 12, and misdemeanor child abuse.

The suspect works as a math teacher at North Brunswick High School, but the alleged incidences happened outside of school and did not involve students.

Authorities have not said how the suspect and victims are connected or released details surrounding the circumstances of the allegations.

The suspect was arrested Wednesday and put on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. She started working at North Brunswick High in August of last year, according to WECT.
