GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal surprised a police officer who played basketball with children and joined them for a rematch.

The Gainesville Police Department posted video of the surprise to YouTube on Saturday. It’s something that the children will probably never forget.

It all started when Gainesville police officer Bobby White was called to respond to a noise complaint in the neighborhood on Jan. 15.

Somebody had called the police because the children were apparently playing basketball “too loudly.” When the officer showed up, instead of punishing them, he joined them for a game.

The Gainesville Police Department posted dash cam video of the game to social media, where it amassed 14,000,000 views.

Shaq saw the video and decided he wanted to be part of a rematch. So he surprised the officer and they returned to the neighborhood for another game.

The original video of the officer playing basketball with the children can be seen below.
