Police looking for woman accused of trying to rob Winston-Salem bank

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are looking for a woman who allegedly tried robbing a Winston-Salem bank on Thursday, but ended up leaving with no money.

Police said it happened at the Wells Fargo at 3171 Peters Creek Parkway shortly after 9 a.m. when the suspect allegedly gave the teller a note demanding money.

The unidentified suspect ended up leaving with nothing, according to police. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black woman between 50 and 70 years old and about 5-foot-3 with a small build. Police have provided a surveillance photo of her.
