Anything that was liquid yesterday is still frozen this morning. Temperatures are in the mid-to-upper 20s this morning in the Triad.

A Winter Storm Warning goes into effect for the Piedmont Triad at midnight.

As we get into the evening, clouds start to creep back into the area. By Friday, we will start to see some sleet and snow between 3 and 4 a.m.

There will be a wintry mix (snow/sleet/freezing rain) throughout the day on Friday for the Triad and points southward.

The southern Piedmont could see the most ice out of this storm. Areas northwest of the Triad will likely see mostly snow with very little ice.

All of this wraps up with snow on Saturday.

We should see less than 1/4 inch of ice and between 3 and 6 inches of snow in the Triad.
