ORLANDO, Fla. — Two Elon University students made a cafeteria worker’s dream come true by sending her and her family on a fully-funded trip to Disney World.

Students Taylor Zisholtz and Lucy Smith-Williams successfully raised enough money to recently send Kathryn Thompson and her family to Walt Disney World resort.

Thompson works the night shift at a coffee shop at Elon University, which is where she met the two students.

Thompson told the students that she always dreamed of going to Disney World – but never had the funds to do so.

The two students took action to make her dream come true. They created a GoFundMe page which raised thousands of dollars.

Back in October, the students surprised the cafeteria worker by telling her they were sending her to Disney World on a fully-funded trip.

This past weekend, Thompson and her son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons visited the amusement park in Orlando, Florida.

A surprise visit with Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theatre in the Magic Kingdom was arranged, where Mickey performed a special magic trick and surprised Thompson with an emotional reunion with the two college students who made Thompson's dreams come true.

“They’ll never know how much this means to me,” Thompson said, referring to the Elon students.
