North Carolina couple dies in apparent murder-suicide

WILSON, N.C. — A Wilson couple died in an apparent murder-suicide Monday morning, according to WRAL.

Officers were called to a home in the 1700 block of Chelsea Drive around 7:30 a.m. to conduct a welfare check.

When no one answered the door, the officers got a neighbor to let them into the home.

Inside they found a man who had been shot and killed. A woman with a gunshot wound was also found in the home.

She was pronounced dead Monday morning at WakeMed in Raleigh, police told WRAL.

The identities of the two victims have not been released.
