Update: US 421 North in Winston-Salem has reopened.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Multiple lanes of US 421 North in Winston-Salem are currently closed after a three-vehicle crash with injuries, according to authorities.

Winston-Salem officials said at about 8 p.m. Saturday that police, firefighters and emergency workers are actively working on the crash on US 421 North at Jonestown Road.

Three vehicles were involved, including one that rolled over multiple times, according to officials. The crash was said to have injuries, but authorities said none of the injuries were life threatening.

Several people, including juveniles, were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their names have not been released.

Exit 238, Jonestown Road, is closed because of the crash, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s website. Traffic is expected to reopen at about 11 p.m.

The cause of the crash has not been released. Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.

The following is an alternative route for people traveling in the area:

Follow I-40 West to Exit 184, Lewisville-Clemmons Road. Turn right and follow Lewisville-Clemmons Road to reaccess US-421 at Exit 242.
