North Carolina man wins $5k a week for the rest of his life

STATESVILLE, N.C. – A 24-year-old Statesville man has won $5,000 a week for the rest of his life by playing the North Carolina Education Lottery.

The Statesville Record & Landmark reported that Antonio Troutman claimed his prize Wednesday at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

“I lost my voice and couldn’t speak, then I jumped out of the car and ran around,” he said, referring to his win, according to the paper.

Troutman bought his winning ticket for $10 at a Statesville convenience store, according to the lottery.

Meanwhile, $50,000 Powerball tickets were recently sold at store in Randolph County, Mocksville and Winston-Salem. A pair of $2 million tickets were sold in Raleigh and in Spring Lake.
