Man in NC charged with DWI after driving over dozens of grave markers
MAIDEN, N.C. — A man drove his truck through a cemetery in Maiden and damaged dozens of grave sites, according to WSOC.
Police said part of the damage included a memorial to veterans. As many as 20 gravesite markers were run over.
Police are at the scene along with families. Police said the truck was going fast enough that the impact caused some of the larger markets to split in half.
Police charged James Walker with driving while intoxicated, possession of an open container and hit-and-run.
