WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman has been arrested following an investigation into a suspicious package at a Winston-Salem church, according to Winston-Salem police.

Daniela Patricia Diaz, 28, of Winston-Salem, is charged with false report of mass violence on educational property.

On Jan. 4 at 2:19 p.m., Winston-Salem police officers were dispatched to investigate a suspicious package that was left at First Baptist Church, located at 501 W. Fifth St.

The church day care and all personnel were evacuated from the area.

After investigating the package, officers determined it did not pose a threat.

Diaz was arrested on Monday and placed under a $5,000 secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Diaz was working as part of a cleaning crew contracted to clean the church, Winston-Salem police said.
