MEBANE, N.C. — A female suspect is sought following a Monday morning armed robbery at a Mebane jewelry store, according to Assistant Chief Thomas Byrd with Mebane police.

Officers responded to the Jared Vault jewelry store in Tanger Outlets, located at 4000 Arrowhead Blvd., Suite 736, at 10:36 a.m. Monday.

Upon arrival, officers learned from employees that a woman entered the store and displayed a handgun. The woman allegedly ordered the employees of the store into a back room and used zip ties to restrain them.

The suspect took an unknown amount of merchandise from the store and fled the scene on foot, Byrd said.

No one was injured during the incident.

The store employees said the woman was in her late 20s or early 30s and was approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and approximately 120 pounds.

Investigators believe the woman may be linked to similar robberies in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, Byrd said. She should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Mebane police at (919) 563-9031.
