GRAHAM, N.C. — A Graham man charged with indecent liberties with a child in November 2015 faces new sex offense charges, according to Cpl. Sara Keller with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

Sherman Foster Thompson, 65, of Graham, is charged with one count of first-degree sex offense with a child and one count of indecent liberties.

On Dec. 4, 2015, detectives with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office receive a report of a sexual assault that took place in the southern part of the county.

Following an investigation, Thompson was charged on Monday.

Thompson was already confined in the Alamance County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond on indecent liberties charges filed in November 2015.

Thompson was placed under an additional $75,000 secured bond for the new charges.

The recent charges do not involve the same victim, Keller said.

Thompson is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
